シカゴ生まれの左利きギタリスト、カルロス・ジョンスンは、現役ブルース・ギタリストの中でも最高の実力を持つ。70年代からブルースを演るようになり、ココ・テイラー、オーティス・ラッシュ、ジュニア・ウェルズ、サン・シールズ、ヴァレリー・ウェリントンなどのバンドでプレイ。近年はソロとしてアルバムを制作し、ファン層を広げている。伝統的シカゴ・ブルースからファンク、ジャズも消化し、独自のスタイルを追求するカルロスの、感情を込めた、心に深く突き刺さるようなギター、ステージでの存在感は多くのファンを魅了している。
